To all who have hurt me!
To all who have hurt me consciously or unconsciously, I have decided to forgive you today! Thus, I need to free myself and be the best individual God intended me to be. My mind has been preoccupied by playing over and over again the pain you caused me, which I have bear for years, months, weeks, and days perhaps….. .
Frankly, these painful wounds have turned into anger, hate, and grudge………but you know what? It has been a lot to carry; now I am left with a very heavy chest and heart. So, as I watched the final Oprah episode several suitable and appealing points were made, and the one that stays with me is from “The Color Purple” movie where Celie Johnson (whoopie Goldberg) tells her husband Mister (Danny Glover) as she was leaving him “ Everything you done to me, already done to you”.
You see, I have always thought that I understood and respected the golden rule “Don’t do to others what you wouldn’t like to be done to you”, but what I have been missing from the rule is that all who have caused me pain(s) one way or the other “that pain has already done to you”. Having said that, this following quote is from an anonymous author of RealLivePreacher.com “It really doesn't matter if the person who hurt you deserves to be forgiven. Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself. You have things to do and you want to move on”
So, today I want to move on and do the thing I thought I could not do, I FORGIVE YOU!!!
“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, "I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along." You must do the thing you think you cannot do”
